Joining Carlton Toastmasters

Becoming a member of the Carlton Toastmasters club is as simple as this.

1. Complete and sign the attached membership application form and submit it to the Vice President Membership or the club President.

2. Pay Joining Fee of $60 and Pro-rata Dues as per the membership form which ranges from $16 to $100 depending which month you join. Payment Options are

3. At the next meeting, you will be voted in as a member by the existing members of the club.

4. To remain a member you need to pay $100 every 6 months which are due by 1 April and 1 October each year.

Once you are a member

If you are new to Toastmasters and you become a member of Carlton Toastmaster you will be heavily supported as you start your journey to improve your public speaking and leadership skills. 

This will be done by

• being assigned a mentor to help you with your first three speeches
• getting your own Competent Communicator and Competent Leadership manuals with the projects to work through to build your skills.
• getting on the Agenda as soon as possible to do your Icebreaker speech
• access to the Carlton Toastmasters club easy-speak site at www.easy-speak.org to access all the information about clubs meetings and tracking your progress.
• access to the educational and other materials on the Toastmasters International website (www.toastmasters.org)

How much are the pro rate dues?

The dues for new members apply from the month you join on a pro-rata basis from 1 April to 1 October as per below.

Can the joining process be done online?

The membership form is above and must be submitted as a hardcopy or via email.  Yes it's paper based but this process is the same for all toastmasters across the globe.  The club is required to keep hardcopies of the all the membership forms.

The payment of dues can be done online via internet banking which is the quickest and easiest way for all concerned.

What does the fees and dues pay for?

Toastmasters is an international not for profit organisation so all the money is used to benefit members. The joining fee and ongoing dues pay for things like the educational materials, venue hire and the running of contests and other workshops.
